COMRADE IIUM, which stand for Community Research for Aboriginal Development IIUM is one of the most popular club in IIUM. The first time I notice about this club is when I was in the first semester in iium, I mean about one year ago. At that time, my friend was asking me to join the club. Actually, at the beginning I was not that sincere joining this club because I was imaging about the village life, muddy place, weird foods, and what notice.But since that I have no club to join at that time and I don’t really know what club is interesting in IIUM, so I just join in blindly.
At the first few months, I was got mad with this club because most of the activities stated in the Taqwim were not performed. I even cancelled some of my plan to go somewhere else, wanted to join the activities stated in the taqwim..But unfortunately, no sms calling for any comrade acivities at that time.. What to do, everyone are busy with their other stuff hahh…
I don’t know when,, I studied that this club mission was to help the aboriginal community in term of various kind of development such as the educational, welfare, religious and what notes. Founding those sentences,, I realize that by joining this club, I am not only taking a part as a member but also as a da’ie, I mean the main purpose of this club are for the sake of dakwah..Hence, I change my point to ponder about this club.
As a weak human being, it is a pleasure for me to be in this club now…why?? Because I found that far away fom the busy messy town, far away behind the hills and mountains, there is a community of people that need our help.. Like you know, people from this community are not originally Muslims, mostly. Most of them are animism before. Some of them just know about Islam maybe in the last few years, even maybe months ago and could be a few weeks before.. So, can you imagine, an old man or women who are just about to convert Islam in their older age…How they gonna learn about Islamic lessons without anyone beside them. .? Hence, even if comrade can contribute small contribution for this community,(of course lah, cuz the members are students which have a lot responsibilities to do) I think as a vicegerent of ALLAH in this world we should do it for whatever reasons..
The purpose is simple, like urm… would you like to see your own relatives being in a situation that is hard in the day of hereafter..?? No right..?! And this we gonna do in this shortly life. Once someone convert to Islam and admit that there is no God except ALLAH and Prophet Muhammad is the messenger, we all Muslims are brothers and sisters to each other. So, would you like to see our own brothers and sisters being in ‘Jahl’ without helping them? This what we are doing in comrade..
Even if some of us didn’t have a proud able level of Islamic knowledge, but we still can contribute even simplest thing like teaching them how to recite du’a or perform solah.. Believe me, by this small and little contribution, our life will be more worth and believe me for those who never appreciate their life, you will appreciate it after joining this mission. The thing was happened to me actually, I believe that the knowledge I have at the moment is just enough for myself and nothing more. But then, I realize that with this small amount of knowledge, I can share something with other people who need it insyaALLAH..
Going back to the story, This club was really working hard for helping the aboriginal Community to develop through some kinds of approaches like for their children, we have Islamic Practical Teaching for OA, Asli Motivational Course, Kelas Bimbingan Asli and so on..We also have other activities like Ziarah, Mahabbah project and so on in order to build a good brotherhood spirit among us.Well, I don’t know how to express the excitement of being one of the members of this club..Now, my friends sue, sri and I are the sub-committee of the educational bereu.We is looking forward to share more to the needy people after this..
